Anu Karwa burst onto the scene as the fresh, young face of wine with a mission to make wine an "accessible and fun part of everyday living". She is a new breed of talent and has been called a walking 411 for a new generation of female wine drinkers and home entertainers. Karwa aims to make it easy for people to feel confident about making wine choices. She doles out smart tips and savvy advice.
Anu Karwa started making an impact on the wine scene as soon as she launched Swirl Events, the wine tasting events company with a fresh, hip spin. Anu never intended to be an accredited sommelier; she received her MBA from Columbia Business School and pursued marketing in the beauty industry. However, her foray into wine was inevitable after she developed a passion for wine and a fresh perspective, picked up while living in San Francisco. Karwa combined her passion for wine with her desire to empower people to assuredly make wine a part of their lives without the usual wine snobbery.
Karwa is a Contributing Epicurean Editor for PageDaily and columnist of the wine column Swirl for Culiante. She is the former author of the SwirlSavvy wine column for the The Chicago Sun-Times. Fans can also catch Anu Karwa on her recurring appearances on Martha Stewart Radio and Cosmo Radio, where she serves as the resident wine expert, as well as through her online video series "Two Minute Savvy Sommelier". She contributes to a variety of sites including AskMelissa, Misstropolis, Divine Caroline and The Works. They also hear her speak at Swirl's events and can get their fix of Karwa's take on the latest wine topics through her blog, SwirlSavvy.
